President Thomas S Monson, Obedience Brings Blessings, General Conference April 2013
“Throughout the ages, men and women have sought for knowledge and understanding concerning this mortal existence and their place and purpose in it, as well as for the way to peace and happiness. Such a search is undertaken by each of us.
This knowledge and understanding are available to all mankind. They are contained in truths which are eternal.”
Howard W. Hunter, in Conference Report, Oct. 1966, 14–17
Peace can be termed a “state of existence that comes to man only upon the terms and conditions set by God”
Elder Quentin L Cook, Personal Peace: The Reward of Righteousness, General Conference April 2013
"I have been impressed with the doctrinal difference between universal or world peace and personal peace."
...
"Peace is not found by attaining great wealth, power, or prominence.22 Peace is not found in the pursuit of pleasure, entertainment, or leisure. None of these can, even when attained in abundance, create any lasting happiness or peace."
My Thoughts
There is a difference between world peace and personal peace.
We have a lot of control over personal peace, but less over world peace.
Personal peace is not dependent on world peace.
Agency makes peace possible.
